  • Normal Town Council, Township, Unit 5 schools, Heartland College endorsements

    Sarah Grammer is labor's endorsed candidate for Normal Township supervisor.

    After deliberation, the Trades & Labor and the Building & Trades delegates voted to endorse these candidates for Normal Town Council.

    Mayor Chris Koos

    Mayor Koos has strongly pushed construction and infrastructure upkeep in Normal, with a strong vision for a growing and sustainable community.  He has been very supportive of worker rights.

    Normal Town Council

    Chemberly Cummings

    Chemberly Cummings is a new face, an active member in community organizations who promises to bring diversity and fresh ideas to the Town.

    Kevin McCarthy

    Kevin McCarthy is a strong advocate for workers’ rights and economic development to create job opportunities and construction projects.

    Scott Preston

    Scott is finishing his first term on the Council; he has voted for prevailing wages and reaffirmed that support in his labor council appearance.
    Normal Township

    Sarah Grammer is a fresh face who has studied the Township; she is pledged to insure that the senior services the Township provides continues, plus stabilizing lives for people in need.

    Unit 5 Schools

    Meta Mickens-Baker is Unit 5 Schools board chair; she has been a consistent advocate for teachers and school staff throughout her tenure.

    Joe Cleary teaches construction management at ISU and previously worked as a union carpenter.  He was recently appointed to the board and is running for his first full term.

    Heartland Community College Trustees

    Mary Campbell, a retired ISU Social Work professor, has help found and support numerous charitable and human service efforts. She realizes the link between job training and stabilizing people’s lives.

    Gregg Chadwick - In responding to labor, Gregg said about prevailing wages: “they are consistent with my philosophy that workers earn a living wage.”
