"We are One" 2011 Bloomington Labor Day Parade theme
The 2011 McLean County Labor Day Parade will march on Monday, September 5, 2011, with a theme of "We are one."
"Working people have to come together to stand up for their rights, to protect their wages, their health care and their pensions," said Ronn Morehead, Bloomington & Normal Trades & Labor Assembly President.
The Parade annually features area marching bands, different union locals, construction equipment, political officials, candidates and community organizations.
The Parade lines up on Front Street at 9 a.m. and then at 10 a.m. marches west on Front Street to Lee Street, south on Lee Street to Wood Street, and then west on Wood Street to Miller Park. A picnic follows for union members at the Miller Park Pavilion.
